My time is consumed with writing, directing, acting and producing. My first volume of children's poetry was released October 1, 2017, and was nominated for the top award in that category by the National Council of Teachers of English. It's titled, "If I weren't Me," and it's available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, and more.
My new book, ArtyFacts, will be released in June. Barnes & Noble and Amazon will carry it.
I've acted in a dozen films, 120+ tv commercials, acted in or directed more than 200 plays, performed in London, but the only thing you might have seen me in would be a couple of episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger."
(Sad, but true! :)
My son, William Harry Evans, turned 14 in November. His autism circumvents any ability for verbal expression, but he is a bright and beautiful little boy, and the chink in the armor of my heart.
Regarding my name change... I had it legally changed in 1991 to 'hal evans,' omitting the middle name, lopping the 'Jr.' off, and replacing 'Harold' with 'hal.' Everyone since college has known me by 'hal.' The lower case letters are the legitimate spelling; they serve as an homage to e.e. cummings.
